Lead compound successfully completes Phase I/IIa clinical trial in prostate cancer

Apatone has since completed clinical study for safety and as an oral monotherapy in late-stage prostate cancer. Investigators Dr. A. Diokno, Chief Medical Officer for William Beaumont Hospital (Michigan) and Dr. J. Summers, Director for Urologic research at Summa Hospital (Ohio), reported: "There is evidence of therapeutic benefit based on PSA kinetics. The more advanced the disease, the more pronounced the effect seemed to be."
